Goodbye?

Oh, wow!! This is my last post here. In this opportunity, I just enjoyed write about awesome things like my favourite movie, singer or the political situation in my country. This blog was a fantastic way for communicate some pieces of me, principally for those who don’t know me.

About keep writing in this site, I don’t know because I have a lot of things in my job like radio speaker or journalist in Bello Público magazine. But, if I would consider starting my own blog, I prefer speak about terms like feminism, the sexual dissent movement, the “relationship” between showbiz and politic areas and posting my articles like journalist for the rest to the people.

Yeah, this site help me improve my basic english. Definitely, the exercise of writing about your favourite things is a funny way for learn this idiom. Even though I think that this idiom is functional (sorry, but my Chilean Spanish is better LOL), practice english through this blog is, for me, a personal progress.

Well, the good things that I enjoyed in this class was write about my favourite pop singer or my devotion to Britney Spears; but the only bad things was caused by my recurrent delays. Sorry, Henry, but it was not my intention and the public transport in this city is degrading. L

In my blog, I don’t know what change. However this site will still open till the end of time.

Bad education

In my country, the education is inserted by neoliberal system logics. Thanks to last dictatorship, scholar and social inequalities have been marked by the social or university privatization, causing social injustices and planting the meritocracy based on free market economy.

The thief

Thanks to student movement from 2011, the actual government stakes to educational reforms that breaks this inequality. However, students and teachers have not been systematically and consistently backed by “Nueva Mayoría”, centre-left political alliance formed by Socialist Party (PS), Christian Democracy (DC), Communist Party (PC), Party for the Democracy (PPD), among others. For this reason, in Chile are strikes and marches.

In my opinion, I support this movement because I think that’s unacceptable be a student and do anything for change our deplorable situation. In Chile, the bad education implies repudiate our history, our ethnic roots, a feminist sexual education and our politic culture. All these issues are necessary change through new models of teaching and learning and we, like students and teachers, are the ones to make realty this change. For this reason, the strikes and marches are principal ways to building awareness for the rest.

My “Abuela”

Born in 1960, Pamela Jiles Moreno is granddaughter of Elena Caffarena, lawyer and a feminist leader who fights for the right to vote. Her political vision is marked for the communism, principally to Juan Jiles Caffarena (her father) whom travelled to Cuba when she was 1-month-old for support the Cuban Revolution.

<3

Today, “la abuela” is recognised as an excellent journalist. Graduated from Catholic University (UC in Chile), she was part of trench journalism during the military dictatorship. Jiles worked in magazines like Solidaridad, Apsi, Análisis and Fortín Mapocho with journalists like María Olivia Mönckeberg, Juan Pablo Cárdenas and Faride Zerán.

In 1989, she joined in Nacional Television of Chile (TVN). Until 2002, Jiles was part of Informe Especial and En Debate, her last tv program. But, since 2004, she dedicated to talk about politic in areas like entertainment world in channels like Chilevisión, UCV y La Red. In her last job, she talked by prostitution, military dictatorship and scandal politics in Intrusos, a tv program of celebrities.

Also, “La abuela” has a section called Chile a prueba de Jiles in Mentiras Verdaderas, a tv show hosted by Jean Phillipe Cretton.

In this year, she confessed that she was rape victim by armed forces when she was 16 years old. During the military dictatorship, sexual assault was part of torture procedures.

I like Pamela Jiles because her job is marked by militancy. Her capacity to talk things that the political elite does not want we know describes her commitment with all us, the exploited people.

Long live to Chile!!

My favourite pop star

Hi, everybody!!!!

Marina Lambrini Damandis, also known as Marina and the Diamondswas born in October 10th of 1985 from Wales, United Kingdom. this primadonna girl is one of last indie pop icons from the UK and she has three albums: The family jewels (2009), Electra Heart (2012) and Froot (2015).

♫ Livin' la dolce vita

Her music was inspired in subjects like love, hate, fame, sex and the empty American dream. But, she applies the irony at the moment to write songs like Hollywood, my favourite track of her first album:

“Hollywood infected your brain.
You wanted kissing in the rain, oh, oh, ooh.
Living in a movie scene
Puking American dreams, oh, oh
I’m obsessed whit the mess that’s America!!! (x2)”.

Also, her vintage asthetic complements the Marina's character: a wannabe drama queen that lives in a sacrcastic world full of fake people and empty feelings.

Why Henry should listen Marina? Well, her music is powerful, kind and makes move your body. So, enjoy Froot, her last album:

XOXO

The last photo

One of my favourite photos belongs from the photojournalism of war, but this shows the last minutes of Salvador Allende, president of my country between 1970 and 1973.

Its author was Leopoldo Víctor Vargas, Air force’s sub-officer and presidential photographer. Taken in September 11th, 1973, nearly 9:45 in the morning, this is one of last photos in the Allende’s life. That was the last Chilean coup d’état and it means the beginning of fascism’s era.

Oh no!!! :(

This photo shows Allende being escorted by two members of “Personal Friends Group” (GAP in Chile), president’s personal protection guards. With a war helmet in his head and a rifle, he is in the Moneda Palace preparing the defence of the Popular Union’s government.

I like this photo because represents the courage and honour of a dreamer man. He really believes in a better world build by the people’s power. This photo shows the socialist force!!!

Finally, this photo won the “Photo of the year 1973” prize in World Press Photo, an organization known for holding the prestigious annual press photography contest.

That’s so fetch!!!!

Oh, yeah! That sentence is the best quote from my favourite movie called Mean Girls, directed by Mark Waters and launched in 2004. It centers on Cady Heron, a sixteen years old girl from Africa that travels to America ‘cause her parents getting a professional job. She loves math (“social suicide”) and must live her new life in a typical american school full of stereotypes.

Poor girl :(

However, the young Lindsay Lohan (in those years nobody knows about her drug addiction) must learn to live in a new habitat full of savages like The Plastics, trouble girls and gossip queens.

On wednesdays we wear pink!!

Led by Regina George (Rachel McAdams… LOL) the Plastics are a like a teen royalty (things that happens in the American schools and universities, or not Gossip Girl?) based in the domination of female behavior’s rules. They are biggest bitches and the most feared by all the students. She has the power, and her Constitution is the Burn Book, a pink book when she and her princesses, Karen Smith and Rachel Weiners, put all her gossips.

When Cady meets Regina, she falls in love with her ex-boyfriend (a big trouble in a teenager story). George knows that and decided back with him. So horrible.

The begining of the end

In the rest of the movie, Cady takes revenge with two friends: Janis Ian and Damian. The life of Regina and the plastics became a hell, principally for the queen B. She became overweight, fat and single, again.

But well, my favourite scene from Mean Girls is when Cady joins to The Plastics (for evil purposes) and dance Jingle bell rock in the Winter Talent Show, an activity organized by the high school. Pay attention to Regina’s mom… from the general public, she is dancing the choreography.

Bonus track: “You can’t sit with us”. Just watch it!!!

About its awards? Error 404 not fond. However, you must watch Mean Girls. It's a light movie, and as Gretchen says, THAT SO FETCH!!!!

My precious

Yes, probably the iPhone 5s could be my favorite piece of technology in all my world. Maybe it’s because of its ease of use and lightness, but this masterpiece has made easier my life.

Bow down, androids!!

Rest in peace, my "shellphone"

Now, I use my iPhone for different reasons. First, I can communicate with my friends and respondents using whastapp and telegram. With these applications, you can say goodbye to the text messages. In second place, I love watch tv series and … THERE IS AN APPLICATION CALLED NETFLIX!!! Third, I practice running with nike plus, my guide.

Finally, I can use social networks like facebook, twitter, instagram and tumblr at the same time. Its quickness is a gift of the gods.

Blessed are you, Jobs

I could say that I use my iPhone most of the time. Yes, I make my confession directly to you… this object is evil but really necessary for my job like a movie star. Ok no… I like it because has all I need.

Definitely, I have no idea what life would be like without it. It’s hard to imagine… LOL

That’s all for today, XOXO
