Born in 1960, Pamela Jiles Moreno is granddaughter of
Elena Caffarena, lawyer and a feminist leader who fights for the right to vote.
Her political vision is marked for the communism, principally to Juan Jiles
Caffarena (her father) whom travelled to Cuba when she was 1-month-old for
support the Cuban Revolution.

Today, “la abuela”
is recognised as an excellent journalist. Graduated from Catholic University
(UC in Chile), she was part of trench journalism during the military
dictatorship. Jiles worked in magazines like Solidaridad, Apsi, Análisis and Fortín Mapocho with journalists like María Olivia Mönckeberg, Juan
Pablo Cárdenas and Faride Zerán.
In 1989, she
joined in Nacional Television of Chile (TVN). Until 2002, Jiles was part of Informe Especial and En Debate, her last tv program. But, since
2004, she dedicated to talk about politic in areas like entertainment world in channels like Chilevisión, UCV y La Red. In
her last job, she talked by prostitution, military dictatorship and scandal
politics in Intrusos, a tv program of
celebrities.
Also, “La abuela”
has a section called Chile a prueba de
Jiles in Mentiras Verdaderas, a
tv show hosted by Jean Phillipe Cretton.
In this year, she confessed that she was rape victim by armed forces when she was 16 years old. During the military dictatorship, sexual assault was part of torture procedures.
I like Pamela Jiles because her job is marked by militancy.
Her capacity to talk things that the political elite does not want we know
describes her commitment with all us, the exploited people.
Long live to Chile!!
